Fieldhouse expansion efforts are in the works, after owner Mick Amicone announced this week the acquisition of approximately 3.5 acres of land.

The land, adjacent to the company's campus at the Sunrise Center, doubles the facility and provides 1,200 linear feet of interstate 70 frontage.

The Genesis-Bethesda Hospital is making progress in their expansion and renovation construction project.

The initial planning of the project began in August of 2010, once the plan was approved the construction began in May of 2013. The project will include major renovations to the existing Bethesda building as well as constructing a new addition and a freestanding cancer center. Chief Operating Officer, Alan R. A local church placed a variety of items on sale on Saturday in hopes to expand its sanctuary.

The Sharon Avenue Free Methodist Church had an indoor garage sale on Friday and Saturday. Church members say that this is one step in securing the money they need for the expanding renovation.

"It's $80,000, that's what our estimate is, and we've got a long way to go yet," said Fundraising Coodinator, Belle Shaw.

An area college is seeking federal funds to help support its proposed expansion.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is asking Perry County citizens for their input on a landfill expansion in New Lexington.

It received a request from Tunnel Hill Partners to add 69 acres to the property, located at 2500 Township Road 205. It already occupies close to 550 acres. The company is also asking to receive more air space and to increase the maximum daily waste receipt to around eight thousand tons. That increase would enable the landfill to fill up in about 12 years....
