Athens County authorities said one person was killed in trailer fire early Thursday morning...

The Rome Township Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to the trailer fire at 8345 Second Street in Stewart, Ohio (Athens County) at 2:40 Thursday morning, with one person trapped inside. Firefighters said upon arrival, crews found the structure fully engulfed in flames, and were not able to attempt any interior rescue, due to the large amount of fire.

One person dies in a house fire in Coshocton County.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said that around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday they received a 911 call in reference to a house fire on Perry Township Road 370 with a person trapped inside.

Walhonding Valley Fire, Coshocton County EMS and deputies responded to the scene. Additional fire departments were called.

The person was later found dead in the home.

The State Fire Marshal's Office will be assisting the Walhonding...

A weekend trailer fire near Frazeysburg claims the life of a man.

Frazeysburg Fire Chief David Smith said crews responded to 1609 Pike Township Road 1390 around 4 a.m. Sunday to find the trailer engulfed and one person trapped inside.

Dresden Fire Department and Walhonding Valley Fire Department were also on scene and attempted to rescue the individual but were unable to.

Another occupant, a female, was able to escape the trailer without injury.

One person is dead following a fire in New Straitsville.

It happened just after midnight at 111 E. Main St.. The New Straitsville Fire Department says Mike Hensley Sr. died as a result of the blaze. The fire department says the back of the home was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Monday Creek, Shawnee, Corning, Corning EMS and Community Ambulance provided mutual aid.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office says at least one person has been killed in a fire in Perry County.  It happened at 4375 Township Road 149 just off State Route 13 North of New Lexington.  Perry County Sheriff William Barker says the victim is identified as 34-year-old Stacy Snellings. She lived in the home with her mother Millie, who was able to escape the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigaton.

The Zanesville Fire Department continues to investigate Sunday's fire-related fatality.

The fire, on 50 Green Street, resulted in the first fire fatality in Zanesville since 2007. The victim is identified as 52-year-old Jerry Miller and he was taken to Licking County for an autopsy, as the cause of death is undetermined.  No one else was  in the home at the time of the fire.

The Ohio State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating a fatal fire in Coshocton County. It happened at 9:05 Tuesday evening at 46390 Millcreek Township Road 221. Public Information Officer Shane Cartmill says one person died as a result of the fire. The Coshocton County Coroner’s Office is working to establish the cause of death and positive identification. A 39-year-old Coshocton County man is dead after flames rip through a mobile home.

Sheriff Timothy Rogers says it happened just before 6:00 a.m.Thursday morning in a trailer at 44715 County Road 58.

Rogers says once the Jackson Township Fire Department was able to get the blaze under control, Jerry Pahoundis was found dead inside. The victim's landlord spoke with WHIZ Thursday afternoon and says the victim was a good guy and was always trying to make a few extra bucks.

A local doctor is dead following a fire last night at 430 North 9th Street in Cambridge.

A Cambridge police officer just happened to be patrolling the neighborhood when he saw smoke coming from a home at the corner of North 9th Street and Stewart Avenue. When units arrived at the scene, Cambridge Fire Captain Tim Milner says crews were notified that 52-year-old James Chlovechok was still in the home and firefighters began a search to locate him.

A Heath family is mourning the loss of a three-year-old boy after a mobile home fire Thursday at 152 Irving Wick Drive. WHIZ's Katie Jeffries has more on the story.
