Fire crews responded to a house fire at 7720 Baker Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Mary Greenfield, who rents the home along with her husband, was in the house when it caught on fire. She said she was taking a nap after working Black Friday at Kohl's, when one of her dogs, Bailey, tugged on her to wake her up. She was then able to make it out of the home unharmed, as was the case with her six dogs. Her husband was not home at the time. A cat in the home...
The Zanesville Fire Department was called to a fire at 1139 Putnam Avenue. Initial reports indicated it is a vacant house. The fire was reported on the second floor and the attic. The fire call came in around 11:15 Friday afternoon. The fire remains under investigation.
Fire crews battle an early morning blaze in Zanesville.
Zanesville Police Lt. Chris Phipps said authorities responded to the fire near 131 Chapman Street around 3:30 Thursday morning. Initial scanner reports indicate a garage at the residence was fully engulfed upon arrival.
Lt. Phipps said the blaze could be the result of an act of arson.

Area fire departments are responding to house fire Tuesday evening in the Frazeysburg area. Initial reports indicate a structure fire at 5691 Pleasant Valley Road. There were also reports of explosions at the scene of the fire. Crews on the scene say it appears to have started in the garage and was working it ways to the home. The fire was reported at 5:30 pm.
The Captain with the Cambridge Fire Department says the fire started around 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Coshocton Avenue. When crews arrived the home was fully involved in flames. It took firefighters about 30-to-40 minutes to put the fire out. Crews were still on scene at 10:30 p.m. containing what was left of the building, which has been vacant for years.
The cause is still under investigation, but the structure was a total loss...
The Perry County Sheriff’s Department says fire crews responded to a house fire Wednesday morning. It happened at 3147 Cooperrider’s Road which is northwest of Somerset. Initial reports described it as a large house fire with five area fire departments responding to the scene just after 7:00 a.m. There are no reports of injuries and the cause remains under investigation.

The fire was called in by a neighbor who witnessed smoke pouring out of windows of the home next door at 2775 Thompson Run Road. South Zanesville, Roseville, Falls Township, and Newton Township fire departments responded to the call and contained the fire to a few rooms within the house. No one was home at the time of the fire.
