The Zanesville Fire Department said a home on Pine Street is considered a total loss.

Crews were dispatched to 768 Pine Street just after 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Chief Waltemire said upon arrival they discovered heavy flames coming from the first floor of the structure. The flames were able to spread up to the attic of the home. Waltemire said it was a devastating burn that took about an hour to control and the home is a total loss.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an early Tuesday morning fire in Muskingum County that destroyed a home. It happened just before 1:30 at 6780 Newark Road. A spokesman for the Fire Marshal’s Office, Bill Krugh, says the fire at the two story vacant home has been ruled an arson. The Zanesville Fire Department got called to two fires that took place Monday morning.

The first fire was at 3 am. The structure fire was on 201 Luck Avenue at a two story residential home. It was determined that it was an upstairs bedroom fire. According to Assistant Fire Chief Doug Hobson, he said that no one was hurt.

 Fire crews were called to 735 Hopewell Rd. for a building fire that fire crews say could cost a local golf course thousands of dollars in damages.

The call came in around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Lieutenant Andrew Jones with National Trail Fire Department said the fire happened in a maintenance building on Crystal Springs Golf Course.

 The Zanesville Fire Department said a fire on the corner of Brighton and Ridge Ave. Sunday night remains under investigation but were able to provide preliminary details.

The Zanesville Fire Department responded to the call just after 10 p.m. that evening and Chief Waltemire said the blaze was located on the first level of the house. There appeared to be a lot of smoke, but Waltemire said it only took about ten minutes to control.

The Washington Township Fire Department was called to the Avon Distribution Center Monday morning just after 6:30 after a report of a fire. Employees were evacuated from the facility, and within 30 minutes, with the help of the sprinkler system, the fire was contained. No injuries were reported. Fire crews are working to ventilate the Center.

A house fire early Sunday morning on Dockray Dr. is under investigation with the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Falls Twp. Fire Chief Joe Hunt said they responded to the call just after 2 a.m. Sunday. Two adults were in the home at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported.

The Chief said it took crews four hours to get the fire under control at the over 5,000 sq. ft. 1 story home.

The Zanesville Fire Department is on the scene of a fire that broke out at 940 West Main Street, Tuesday morning.

That is at the corner of West Main and Luck Avenue and was the former home of McCarty's Bar. The call came in just before 2:30 a.m. 

The two story structure is a commercial building and flames were seen coming out of the top of the building when firefighters arrived.

The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol needs the community's help in identifying a suspect or suspects who caused a multi-vehicle fire Tuesday.

Crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle fire Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just after 1:30 at the "Park and Ride" parking lot, near the Interstate 70-Adamsville Road exit. According to Lieutenant Matt Boyd of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two vehicles were completely engulfed in flames and three surrounding vehicles were damaged as a result. Boyd said the fire may have been caused by someone attempting to steal gas from the parked vehicles.
