The State Fire Marshal's Office says an early Sunday morning fire in Crooksville is being deemed arson.

Spokeman Shane Cartmill says there were no utilities to the structure on 572 Washington Street. It was unoccupied, and Cartmill says it hadn't been repaired in years.

This is the second fire this home has experienced. Cartmill says the one before Sunday's occurred back in August of 2009, but he says he doesn't have any details on that blaze.

The Crooksville Fire Department is investigating the cause of an overnight fire.

It happened around 1:45 a.m. at 572 Washington Street.

Fire Chief Fred Redford says when crews arrived, flames were visible on two sides of the structure.

New Lexington and Roseville Fire Departments were called in to assist.

Redford says while battling the flames, there was an explosion that occurred, but he says it did not injure any of the firefighters. That explosion did cause crews...

A local family of five is homeless after an early morning fire.

Frazeysburg Fire Chief, Dave Smith, says his department responded to 28 East 5th Street and found the home fully engulfed.

He says the fire started in the basement and spread through the first and second stories of the home.

It's considered a total loss, and the Muskingum Valley Red Cross is providing aide to Gene and Tammy Smith and their three children, ages 17, 12, and 10.

Fire investigators say the cause of a fire that killed a Heath three-year-old will remain undetermined.

However, according to Shane Cartmill with State Fire Marshal's Office, they cannot rule out a child playing with a lighter as the possible cause of the fire that killed Brenden Fown.

The fire at 152 Irving Wick Drive on February 11, 2010 started in a bedroom on the eastside of the trailer home.

Investigators say smoke detectors were in the home, but none were found...

Officials with the Walhonding Valley Fire District are investigating a suspicious fire in Warsaw.

According to Safety Officer Brent McKee, crews were called 40243 U.S. Route 36 around 9:30 Monday morning. The home was vacant and it took crews a little more than an hour to extinguish the blaze.

McKee says the fire was suspicious in nature and they're investigating with the help of the State Fire Marshal's Office.

A Licking County family is homeless after a morning fire.

It happened just before 8 a.m. at 402 Doris Road.

The West Licking Joint Fire District says when it arrived at the scene, it found a large volume of smoke coming from the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but it is considered a total loss.

Firefighters from three departments were called to a fire Friday afternoon in Mount Perry.

The fire broke out around 3:30 at 1701 Mount Perry Road.

"When the first crew arrived they just saw a lot of smoke coming out of the house and the chimney. When we got an entry team in there we found a fire in the basement," said Steve Dupler, Assistant Chief National Trails Fire Department.

There was a fire in Perry County Thursday around 5 p.m.

The Newton Township Fire Department was called to an attic fire at 10016 Township Road 57 in Madison Township.

Chief Allen Deaver says the fire was contained to the attic and is believed to be electrical.

A three-year-old boy has died after a fire at a trailer home in Heath Thursday.

State Fire Marshal spokesman Shane Cartmill said  the fire started around 5 p.m. at 152 Irving Wick Drive in the Amber Mobile Home Park.

Investigators believe the fire started in a bedroom on the east side of the home.

The boy's name will not be released until the autopsy is complete Friday. The State Fire Marshal's Office, the Heath Police and Fire Departments are investigating.

A mobile home caught fire Tuesday night in Roseville.

It happened around 8:50 p.m. at 8695 Township Road 57.

Scanner reports indicate everyone made it out of the home safely.
