The Nashport family left for the Bahamas last Friday for a seven day cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Granduer but a fire on the ship cut their vacation short.

The Zanesville Fire Department responded to call about a house fire at 1:14 a.m. this morning at 1205 Greenwood Ave.

According to the Zanesville Fire Department,  the fire started after an occupant in the house was fueling a generator inside his home. There were two occupants in the house at the time of the fire. One person was MedFlighted to a hospital in Columbus to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. No names are being released at this time...

A Crooksville family comes together after a fire destroys their home.

Terry Savage,his daughter,Christy and her three children were forced from their home late last night. Their family rushed over when they heard the news.

It has been a busy year for the Muskingum Valley Red Cross when it comes to fires. This weekend alone there were three including a small apartment complex in Cambridge.

Executive Director Marlene Henderson says there have been 62 fires since July; 10 in march alone. Last year there were 65 fires for the year. This increase has left the Red Cross in need of additional funding and donations.

According to the Hanover Twp. Fire Department, The Licking Valley Middle School Fieldhouse caught fire last night, calling the building a "total loss."

Eight fire departments responded to the a call about smoke coming from the building late Friday night. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Dresden Fire Department responded to a call from a neighbor around 4:30 p.m. Friday evening about a fire on 2nd Avenue in Trinway. When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the home. Fire crews had the blaze under control around 5:30 p.m. There were no injuries and no one was at home when the fire started.

A fire in Zanesville forced a local business to be evacuated Thursday afternoon.

At around 3 o'clock the Zanesville Fire Department responded to a fire at Ohio Stoneware at 1107 Muskingum Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Eric Waltermire says when his crews arrived on the scene employees were on the roof and had the fire contained.

Waltermire said the fire started when the heat from the kiln heated up the chimney stack to the point that the foam rubber insulation caught fire.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office says a husband and wife  died in a large house fire near Buckeye Lake.  It happened Thursday just after midnight on Shell Beach Drive.  Investigators identify the dead as Milton Clagg and Mary Clagg, both 62.  Fire fighters from Perry, Licking and Fairfield Counties battled the blaze, which was made more difficult by frigid temperatures.  Other residents got out safety and nobody else was hurt.  The house was destroyed...

Firefighters are investigating a Roseville blaze that could be suspicious in nature.

The Crooksville, Roseville and Newton Township Fire Departments responded to the call around 6:45 p.m. at 198 Potters Lane.  Firefighters said the home has been abandoned for several years and no injuries were reported.

The fire started in the back of the building and spread to the second floor.  Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters battled a blaze in Zanesville on Wednesday night.

It happened just after 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Adair Avenue near the intersection of Maple Avenue.

The Zanesville Fire Department did not release details at the scene. However, neighbors told WHIZ that the home has been abandoned for several years.

Smoke could be seen pouring out of the windows when first responders arrived.  It didn't appear as though any nearby...
