Area fire departments battled a structure fire this morning.

It happened at 3770 Frazeysburg Road near Northpointe Drive. Lieutenant Joe Hunt of the Falls Township Fire Department said the call come into the station around 10:50 a.m. with possible entrapment inside the home.

Lt. Hunt said the damage on the fire floor was moderate to severe. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A garage fire gave firefighters a little bit of a scare Saturday night.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. at 1088 Wayne Avenue.  Zanesville Assistant Fire Chief David Huey said he received a call that an elderly woman was trapped inside, but fortunately, that wasn't the case.

The cause of a house fire in Frazeysburg is under investigation.

The Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call around 11:30 Saturday night at 12290 West Carlisle Road.  When firefighters arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire department said no one was injured, but the home is considered to be a total loss.  The Dresden Volunteer Fire Department and Frontier Power also provided assistance.  The State Fire Marshal's...

A Wayne Township home and its contents are destroyed in a fire Friday afternoon that may have indirectly been caused by the recent severe weather in the area.

Firefighters from four different fire departments responded to the blaze around 4 p.m.

Wayne Township Fire Chief Don Alexander says when responding to the scene in the 2500-block of Three Towers Road they knew to call in back-up.

A Washington Township mobile home was destroyed in a fire Monday evening.

The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. at 113 Eastwood Drive. Firefighters from the Washington Township and Zanesville Fire Departments responded to the scene and worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby homes.

"It always is when you come to the trailer park. It can jump from one to the other," says Chief Gene Hanning, Washington Township Fire Department.

A Friday evening fire damages a Zanesville business.

Firefighters were called to 350 Luck Avenue around 8 p.m. When they arrived at the scene flames were coming out the front of Ritchey's Market.

Assistant Fire Chief David Huey says they cannot determine the official cause yet, but discarded smoking materials may be to blame.

Larry Waltz's Ohio Pottery store has been reduced to a charred pile of ash and steel.

"I got a phone call at about ten minutes until 9 that the pottery was on fire," Waltz said.  "I was at home, so Jamara and I rushed over here and it was in full flames, we opened the door; smoke and flamed were shooting out, and from there, of course, it's a total loss."

The West Pike location of Ohio Pottery is likely a total loss after a fire Sunday night.

The Falls Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call around 9 p.m.  The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office and units from nearby fire stations also assisted.

Thick black smoke could be seen from Interstate 70.  Firefighters battled the blaze from the outside as a safety precaution.

A Dresden home suffered major damage in a fire Friday evening.

Firefighters were called to 21 East Sixth Street shortly before 8 p.m.

Crews from the Dresden and Falls Township Fire Departments were on scene.

The Newton Township Fire Department responds to fire late Tuesday.

Lieutenant Josh Bryan said that a structure fire on US Route 22 around 11:30p.m.

Crews from Glenford and Somerset were called in to assist. The fire was contained in about 45 minutes and no one was hurt during the event.
