The Muskingum Valley Red Cross' Relief Fund is still down by about 30 percent, but Executive Director, Dan Hartman, says it's not affecting the way his staff helps families.

"In the last few weeks, we've had seven fires, seven families we've helped with a total of 30 family members. Is that up a little bit, yeah, " says Hartman.

A Newark man accused of setting two fires back in September has been indicted by a Licking County Grand Jury.

28-year-old Matthew Craig is facing one count of arson and one count of aggravated arson.
 

He's being held in the Licking County Justice Center on a $250,000 bond.
 

Newark Police say Craig was arrested last week in connection with two fires at 105 South 5th Street that occurred on September 20 and on September 23.

The State Fire Marshall's Office, the Newark Fire Department, and the Newark Police Department say they need the public's help in finding the person or people responsible for as many as eight fires throughout the city of Newark within the past two weeks.

Assistant Fire Chief, David Decker, says the fires are still under investigation and it's not certain yet if all the fires are connected.
