ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) - Zanesville Police say two people were injured, one seriously, after a car went out of control striking two other vehicles before slamming into the Cash Max and Little Caesars building on Maple Avenue Thursday morning. According to ZPD the driver of the car, identified as 57-year-old Jeff Fouch was cited for failure to control.

The First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Zanesville is taking place Friday. This month, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project (ZAAP) is highlighting artist Jennifer Sands.
Sands graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design, and typically works with wool, fabric and resin. Some examples of these resin pieces will be on display at ZAAP. Sands says that the inspiration of her work that is currently on display came from changes in her life.
A new salon has opened in town this past May, and they are the featured artist of the month in Friday, July 4th's Art Walk.
Fringe Salon is owned by Debbie Beckert and Lynn Bishop. Beckert says it's the place where "art meets hair." It gives customers the opportunity to have a unique experience of looking at local art while getting their hair styled.

Kathy Jenkins is a member of ZAAP and this months featured artist. She says she spent almost forty years as a school teacher in the Franklin Local and Zanesville City School districts. Once she retired eight years ago she knew that art would be her full time hobby.

Every month, Z.A.A.P. celebrates a different artist and for July, the board is honoring eight new members of the art community. The artists featured specialize in mixed media, photography, word-working, oils, acrylic and water color paintings.
