Area golfers are getting their clubs ready for the Zanesville Fraternal Order of Police Golf Outing.

Sponsored by Terry's Tavern, the golfers are teeing off to raise money for the annual Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner. Zanesville Police Captain, Tony Coury, said the community enjoys coming together in support of seniors.

Area golfers teed it up Sunday to support the Fraternal Order of Police.

The 18-hole scramble took place at Green Valley Golf Course Sunday morning. A full field of 18 teams competed in the third annual outing that's put on by Terry's Tavern.

Law enforcement officers from all over Muskingum County spent  Thursday morning pouring coffee and serving food.

In collaboration with the Muskingum County Center for Seniors, Lodge #5 of the Fraternal Order of Police held a Christmas party for nearly 1,000 seniors. President of F.O.P. Lodge # 5, Wes Elson, says the idea for the Christmas party came about years ago as a way to give back to the community.

One of Muskingum county's favorite annual Christmas parties is this week. The Fraternal Order of Police senior holiday dinner is this Thursday, December 6th at the Center for Seniors. This tradition of over 25 years is a great opportunity for the seniors in our county to get out and have some fun.

Zanesville police and other members of the community joined together to honor senior citizens Thursday at an annual luncheon at the Center for Seniors.  The event was put on by the Fraternal Order of Police and sponsored by other local businesses.  Along with local officers, community volunteers, including various youth organizations and elected officials were on hand to serve lunch to the local seniors.

More than a thousand senior citizens attended a free dinner, this afternoon, held by the Fraternal Order of Police in Zanesville.

This is the 25th anniversary for the FOP dinner for senior citizens. The FOP says it's law enforcement's way of saying thank you for all the support senior citizens give. Patrolman Tom Porter says it's an event the senior's look forward to every year.
