A family is unharmed after a fire erupts inside a mobile home in Frazeysburg this afternoon.

According to Jessica Spellman, a resident of the home on N.Canal Rd. at approximately 3 p.m. Spellman saw an orange glow coming from behind the dryer, once she pulled the dryer away from the wall she saw sparks and shortly after she witnessed flames. The Village is Frazeysburg is has lost its second police Chief in a year.  Village Solicitor Gerald Tiberio Jr. says that Police Chief John McCall is no longer an employee of the village.  Tiberio says on November 14th McCall offered his letter of resignation to Mayor Gary Middlemus and it was accepted.  Tiberio says McCally cited financial and geographical reasons for resigning.  Earlier this year Nick Garver quit as Police Chief. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz...

The Village of Frazeysburg showed their appreciation for American Veterans through the unveiling of a patriotic mural at their municipal building.

In 2012 local artist, Sean Elliott completed the middle of portion of the mural and on Monday, the left and right sides of the large painting were revealed. Elliott served as an air force desert combat instructor in Nevada and says this mural has close ties to his heart.

Two all-terrain vehicles collided on West Carlisle Road near Frazeysburg Monday afternoon, claiming the life of 16-year-old Zackery Jungling of Frazeysburg.

The crash took place around 5:30 PM near the intersection of West Carlisle and Ashcraft Roads in Muskingum County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, and both Frazeysburg and Dresden Fire Departments responded to the scene of the accident around 5:30 p.m. on Monday. OSHP Sgt. Melanie Appleman says two ATV's were traveling on Ashcraft Road when one stopped at the intersection on West Carlisle Road and the second ATV, carrying two people, failed to stop, crashing into the rear of the stopped ATV.

A weekend trailer fire near Frazeysburg claims the life of a man.

Frazeysburg Fire Chief David Smith said crews responded to 1609 Pike Township Road 1390 around 4 a.m. Sunday to find the trailer engulfed and one person trapped inside.

Dresden Fire Department and Walhonding Valley Fire Department were also on scene and attempted to rescue the individual but were unable to.

Another occupant, a female, was able to escape the trailer without injury.

A village shows their support and appreciation for the country's veterans.

Frazeysburg revealed a mural honoring all veterans. Members of the Frazeysburg VFW, Senator Troy Balderson and local veterans attended the reveal. Frazeysburg Mayor Gary Middlemus presented the mural to the town.

"The mural is not just for veterans, because it affects everybody's life one way or the other. That way if somebody's just traveling through they can see it too," said Middlemus.

 A special election will be held in Muskingum County on Tuesday, February 8th. Polls will be open from 6:30am - 7:30pm. The issue on the ballot is a 5-mill fire levy for the Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department.

"We have approximately 790 registered voters in the Village of Frazeysburg and I feel that maybe we will have a 15% turn out," said Elections Director, Chris Hamill.

If the issue does not pass, voters will see it on the ballot again.

Firefighters from several departments are responding to the scene of a structure fire on Blackrun Road in Nashport.

Initial reports indicate the fire which broke out around 10:40 a.m.at 8970 Blackrun Road started in the basement area and has spread to the first floor of the home.

The Frazeysburg  Fire Department is on the scene with mutual aid from Falls Township and Licking Township.
