Zanesville City Council held their first meeting for the month of July Monday evening.

An ordinance regarding the Fire Capital Projects Fund was up for a first reading. Public Safety Director, Fred Buck told us more about the history behind it.

Zanesville City Council held their second meeting of June Monday evening.

An ordinance was passed that allows the city to enter into contract with CMI to purchase a 911 system for the Police Division. Public Safety Director, Fred Buck told us more about some of its features.

The City of Zanesville is hosting a fundraiser for our four legged members of the Zanesville Police Department.

The first ever golf outing will be taking place at Green Valley Golf Course on Dresden Road, Saturday, June 27. Shotgun start is at 9AM. The cost is $40 a person and $160 a team. You can also sponsor holes on the course. Safety Director of Zanesville, Fred Buck told us more.

Zanesville City Council held their first meeting of the month of November Monday evening.

Two of the ordinances on the agenda Monday evening established property disposal legislation for two different locations in the area. Those who frequent Zane's Landing Park have likely noticed a slight change of scenery recently.

The old tent structure which went up in 1988 was taken down with a new structure put in its place last Thursday.  Zanesville Public Safety Director Fred Buck said years of weathering and vandalism took a hard toll on the old structure, and it was time for a replacement.

The Public Safety Committee Meeting was Tuesday evening at City Hall to discuss important issues at both Zanesville police and fire departments.

Zanesville City Council passed a traffic order that prohibits southbound traffic on Maple Avenue to turn left onto Bell Street. So if you're driving southbound on Maple and need to turn into Walmart or the Genesis Health Plex, you now have to turn left at Balls Lane.

The 5th Street Project is underway and there are a lot of drivers failing to fully stop at stop signs, according to Director of Public Safety Fred Buck and Mayor Jeff Tilton.

One teenager was injured Tuesday afternoon in a tractor accident on East Market Street in Zanesville.

The Zanesville Fire Department says, the young male was working for a contractor that was hired by the City of Zanesville, to maintain weeds and high grass, when he lost control of the tractor and it flipped down a steep backyard hill.

An ordinance passes through Zanesville City Council hiring three temporary employees for the city.

The employees are retired communications officers and will be hired through a temporary employment agency to work at least 90 days. The hope is to allow current dispatchers take delayed vacations and save the city money on overtime.
