After dipping below the $3.00 mark at many stations just before the holiday, Ohio gas prices have shot back up to end 2013.  The average Monday is $3.40 for a gallon of regular gas in the survey from Auto Club AAA. That’s up 14 cents from last week.  The national average Monday is $3.31, up 6 cents from last week.  The Ohio average is 23 cents higher than a month ago, and 3 cents higher than this time last year.

Last week gas prices in Zanesville and surrounding areas averaged around $3.24 a gallon, according to AAA. On Friday, the average price in Zanesville has increased about 20 cents to $3.42, upsetting many drivers.

Brad Tyo said, "I think the last time I got it, it was $3.10 or $3.11. I'm definitely trying to hold off as long as I can until I absolutely need gas, hopeful it goes back down here in the next few days or the next week."

Ohioans whose wallets are lighter after a weekend of holiday shopping will at least pay a little less for gas to start the week.  The state average is $3.14 for a gallon of regular gas in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA.  That’s down 11 cents from last week and it’s the first drop in the average price in two weeks.  The Ohio price is 13 cents lower that the national average of $3.27, which is down a penny from a week ago. Motorists are finding gas prices a little higher as they get ready to travel for Thanksgiving this week.  The state average was $3.25 for a gallon or regular gas in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA, The Oil Price Information Service and Wex Incorporated.  That’s up seven cents from last week and it’s 17 cents higher than two weeks ago, when prices started to rise following a brief flirtation with $3.00-a-gallon levels. Ohio Gas Prices have jumped back up after a week or so of flirting with the $3.00 a gallon level.  The state average was $3.18 for a gallon of regular gas in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA.  That’s up from this time last week.  the Ohio price was a few cents less than the national average of $3.21, which was up 2 cents from a week ago.  According to gasbuddy.com gas is selling for around $3.09 a gallon in Zanesville.

Ohio gas prices have dropped significantly this week and in Zanesville gas prices are under three dollars a gallon for the first time in nearly a year.

In Monday's Survey from Auto Club AAA, gas prices have dropped 17 cents from this time last week and area motorists are noticing the happy change.

"Yeah, I noticed that the prices were lower and of course it's a benefit to everybody, save some money," said Greg Harmon, a local motorist.

Ohio drivers are paying slightly more at the pump as summer wraps up and students head back to school.
