On Monday, 5-year-old Francesca Dougherty and her parents went to the Pediatrics Department at Genesis Hospital with bags full of toys to donate to the hospital.

As we were counting down to a new year, a Coshcocton resident was counting her blessings.

Genesis volunteers pledged $1 million to the hospital over the course of 10 years.

A new, re-vamped gift shop at Genesis with a Starbucks cafe, an outdoor courtyard, a baby grand piano and free wifi will have its grand opening celebration Thursday. This is just one of the upgrades Genesis is seeing make way with the pledged money from the volunteers.

The Genesis Cancer Care Center will officially open its doors to patients starting Monday.

The facility will be the first in Zanesville, and up until now, patients being treated for cancer have had to travel out of town for their treatment. With Ebola on the front lines of medical news, local hospitals are preparing just in case the virus arrives in Southeast Ohio.

The Zanesville Police Department responded to an altercation outside of Genesis/Bethesda Hospital this afternoon.

The Zanesville Muskingum County Health Department is holding a Drug Take Back Event.

It's Saturday, September 27 from 10AM to 2PM. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says all expired or unused medication will be accepted.
