An area school recieves quite a gift to boost technology for its students.

Cambridge Middle School competed in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Title-Two-D competitve grant. The school is one of only 48 within the state to secure the grant worth nearly $250,000.

The City of Cambridge will be busy this summer beautifying their downtown.

Thanks to a $400,000 grant, the facades of 22 buildings will be updated, as well as code work and paving.

The city of Zanesville will receive a grant of more than $200,000 from the Ohio Department of Development.

The D.O.D. announced Monday it will award the "Clean Ohio Assistance Fund" grant to the city to conduct an environmental assessment on the former GNB property on Moxahala Avenue. The money will be used for almost 20 monitoring wells, soil borings, an asbestos survey, data evaluation and reporting.

The Muskingum County Library system is receiving grant money to combat literacy problems in children.

The city of Newark is receiving a $2 million grant to conduct remediation and demolition at the former Newark Processing Company.

Beginning in 1980, Newark Processing operated an aluminum recycling facility that processed aluminum dross, which is the source of the site's contamination.
