It was another reality check for Zanesville's opponent tonight. The Blue Devils smashed Piketon 65-39, handing the Red Streaks their first loss of the season. Zanesville can now boast victories against the former number one team in division one (Massillon-Jackson), along with the second ranked squad in division three (Piketon). Tanner Gibson carried the torch with 28 pts, the only Devil in double digits.

The last time Rosecrans (14-0) earned a number one ranking in 1999, the Bishops immediately fell in a trap-game at Bishop Watterson. This time around, Rosecrans pulled out the victory over their former C.C.L. opponent one day after being named the top ranked team in Division IV. However, it didn't come easy at the Eagles Nest. Bishop Watterson (3-10), who played unbeaten Bishop Hartley and St. Francis Desales to four and two-point games respectively, led by one with one minute to play. That'...

The Blue Devils were entering Tuesday night's game, guarding against a letdown. There was one, but it wasn't Zanesville's. The Blue Devils defeat Canal Winchester 52-28, holding the Indians to the lowest point total of any Zanesville opponent this year. Fresh off the emotional and physical victory over Massillon Jackson, coach Scott Aronhalt was trying to prevent his players from coming out flat. It didn't happen. Zanesville jumped out to a 12-0 lead, and didn't look back. Rian...

Before the game, Zanesville head coach Scott Aronhalt preached to his kids the motto that this Blue Devil team has lived by all season: Set the Tempo. In no game was it more important than the eleventh game of Zanesville's year, against the defending Division I state champions, the Massillon Jackson Polar Bears. Coming into the game, Jackson was riding a 23 game winning streak, scoring 75 points a game in nine wins this season. Zanesville held them to 55 in a 58-55 victory, Jackson's first...

To make way for the Scarlet and Gray, two teams in the Blue and White played Monday. It was Zanesville that outlasted Granville, 53-37. In a game played a day early to avoid the Sugar Bowl. the Blue Devils were sweet--on both ends. Utilizing their athleticism on offense to create some easy buckets, playing defense well enough to secure their fourth opponent in the thirties through the first 9 games. Senior guard Tanner Gibson leading the way with 17 points and eight...

Ask any coach and they will always say after a big win, it only matters until the next game, and in Newark's case it didn't get any bigger than a last second buzzer beater against Briggs. The Wildcats have now won two straight and seem to be gathering momentum. In the MVL Tri-Valley suffered their first loss of the season during a horrible shooting night in their game against Reynoldsburg, while Sheridan, John Glenn, and West M all picked up wins against no League foes.
