 The 'Amvets' and Boy Scout Troop 158 joined together to honor veterans this Memorial Day weekend.

The Wildcats joined the Amvets in placing flags on the graves of all veterans in the Greenwood Cemetery. Boy Scout David Johnson said that he discovered veterans who defended our country in many battles.

"Me and my dad, we've seen some from world war II, I, Vietnam, Korea and we even found one from the Civil War," said Johnson.

With Memorial Day this upcoming Monday, local Boy Scouts set out to honor our country's fallen heroes.

Members of Troop 158 took part in their yearly tradition of placing American flags by the graves of veterans Saturday morning at Greenwood Cemetery.  They joined members of the Muskingum County Veterans Council and even a few Girl Scouts this year as well to help make sure every fallen veteran in the cemetery was recognized for his/her service.  The tradition has been an...

People gathered at Greenwood Cemetery to honor our troops.

The memorial ceremony featured Captain Lydia Marillo from Columbus, as well as the Zanesville High School Band.

Master Sergeant Dick Bowers said it's an emotional time for everyone.

"It really is, every year,I'm thinking this is my 32nd year at it, and every year you get a little teary-eyed, but that's what it's about, if you can't feel any emotion, you really have no business being here," said Bowers....

Flags flew at half-staff across Zanesville today, to honor those who have served and those who have passed.

The day was an emotional one for Veteran, Bob Schaumleffel, who returns to Zanesville every year on Memorial Day to take part in the ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery. He said, the community does a wonderful job of remembering men like his father who served in World War II.
