The Guernsey County Sheriff's offers a word of warning to those traveling this summer season. Recently, the Sheriff's Office reported they've investigated several residential break-ins. 

The Sheriff Office said they found the majority of the break-ins occur while home owners are away on vacation and have posted those plans on social media in the form of pictures or check-ins.

The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office search for a suspect who fled a vehicle on foot after an early Thursday morning pursuit.

Not many details are being released at this time, but a dispatcher said the incident began on Georgetown Road just after 2:00 a.m.

The pursuit lasted twelve miles when spike strips were deployed, successfully stopping the vehicle.

Three suspects then fled on foot. Two were taken into custody, a third is still being sought.

Cambridge Police and Guernsey County Sheriff's Deputies make two arrests in a Monday afternoon bank robbery.

Cambridge Police said that around 3pm the People's Bank Branch on Wheeling Avenue was robbed by a white male. The man demanded money and fled to a waiting vehicle near 6th Street. No weapons were seen during the robbery and no bank employees were harmed.

The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office said a Buffalo woman has entered a plea in connection to the January death of a Seneca Lake man.

According to Sheriff Mike McCauley, Sara Willey entered pleas of guilty to complicity to commit murder, complicity to commit aggravated robbery, complicity to commit grand theft, attempted theft of a firearm and complicity to commit having weapons while under disability.

Two people charged in connection with Guernsey County's first murder of 2011 appeared in court today for a bond hearing.
 

Court officials say bond was set at $500,000 for both 24-year-old Sara Willey of Buffalo, Ohio and 36-year-old James Dunikowski Junior of Tennessee.

Authorities said Tuesday the event's leading up to the Sunday murder of a Zanesville man may have begun in Muskingum County.

The Guernsey County Sheriff says he's very familiar with Jason Payton, who is a Cambridge native.

The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office says a Loudenville man is found dead at the Guernsey County Jail. It happened Monday morning, about six hours after the man was arrested.
