The fifth of six people charged in connection to the murder of a Zanesville man has been sentenced.  21-year-old Marcia Harris appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on two counts of tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse and obstructing justice and received 3 years in prison in the death of Phillip Kimbro Jr.  She also must pay the Kimbro family 17-hundred dollars.  Two other counts of obstructing justice were dropped at sentencing. In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday five people pled guilty to charges related to a drug bust.

In April the State Highway Patrol in Preble County stopped a mini-van for speeding and discovered 20 pounds of marijuana that was headed to a Zanesville home.

Five people were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at the Livingston Avenue residence.

A Columbus man is sentenced in connection with a fatal drunk driving accident. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 27-year-old Darnell Harris was charged with involuntary manslaughter and operating a vehicle under the influence after an accident in April on U.S. 40 in Falls Township. Zanesville Police Tuesday released a statement concerning the investigation into a 1988 Zanesville murder and efforts to bring the suspect back to Muskingum County. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says the suspect in the murder of Jeffrey Harris is fighting extradition from New York State, where he is in custody, to Ohio to face charges. Ohio University is confirming that one of its students is being treated for bacterial meningitis.

Junior Lindsay Harris was transported from O'Blenesses Memorial Hospital in Athens to a Columbus area hospital Saturday. A Philo man is sentenced to prison Monday in connection with the shooting of a Muskingum County man last year.

40-year-old James Harris was accused of shooting 36-year-old Trevor Carson in the back three times in November of 2009 at 5971 National Road.

Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Harris to 4 and a half years in prison on a charge of aggravated assault with a gun specification.

He plead guilty to the charge this past June.
