Harrison Township fire crews battled flames through the rain Sunday afternoon.

Around 5:00 p.m. the department responded to calls of a structure fire at 5626 Center Road south of Zanesville. The fire started in one of the bedrooms and was quickly contained, although the rest of the home did suffer some smoke and water damage. The family living in the home was away at the time. Firefighters in Harrison Township battle a structure fire in Philo.

The fire began just after 5 a.m. Wednesday at a vacant trailer.

The trailer is located at 628 5th Street.

Wayne Township Fire Department was also called in to assist.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office reports that fire crews from Wayne and Harrison Townships are battling a structure fire in Gaysport, Friday morning.

Not many details are known at this time. The fire was reported to the sheriff's office around 2:45 a.m.

A portion of the Village Philo in Muskingum County is being evacuated Wednesday morning due to a natural gas leak.

The Harrison Township Fire Department can't say at this time how many people have been evacuated as they're just beginning the count.

They did said that the evacuations are mainly affecting Main and Market Streets and that high winds produced damage to the area.

One local fire department wants you to have the opportunity to see what your tax dollars go toward.

Harrison Township Volunteer Firefighter Chad Orwig said they are holding an event Saturday the 11th starting at 10a.m. to show people how the station operates.

A trailer was destroyed in a fire early Wednesday morning.

According to Bob Hatfield with the Harrison Township EMS, emergency personnel were called to the scene at 3750 Cannelville Road in Brush Creek Township shortly before 4 a.m.

The trailer home was unoccupied. Hatfield says it was already fully-engulfed by the time crews arrived on scene. It was a complete loss.

Harrison Township was assisted by the South Zanesville Fire Department.
