Preschoolers ranging in ages from three to five and their parents share a meal together.

Each year the Muskingum County Head Start program invited all the families of Head Start to enjoy the day. After the meal. The parents and children walked to different rooms. Each room featured something different. There was a dancing room, reading room, and an art room. While most of us have to wait for Thanksgiving to satisfy our holiday taste buds, Muskingum County Head Start indulged early, at their annual Thanksgiving meal.

Over 250  pre-school students and their parents were invited to attend a Thanksgiving feast at Coburn United Methodist Church Thursday, November 13th. The annual meal included chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, and Head Start student Olivia's favorite, cake.

Pre-School is the first step into a child's education and Zanesville offers that chance for every child.

Muskingum County Head Start has been in Zanesville since 1979. The school is a federally funded program and serves children three -to-five years old that are below 100 percent of the poverty index guidelines. Thanksgiving is still a week away, but on Thursday families enjoyed a meal together.

Thanksgiving isn't until next week, but on Tuesday about 300 preschoolers enjoyed a special feast with their families.

Coburn United Methodist Church in Zanesville hosted a free meal for children in Muskingum County's Head Start program. Assistant Director Joan Barr said the kids put on a performance and participated in educational activities with their parents.

It's an opportunity for 285 students and their families to get together.

Head Start held their annual "Fall into Learning Feast" at the Coburn United Methodist Church. The night starts out with a dinner for the families.

Some local families are getting a head start on their Thanksgiving celebration.

Friday at the Coburn United Methodist Church, hundreds of parents and children in the Head Start program enjoyed a warm meal. It is all part of the Head Start programs annual Family Feast. In addition to delicious food, parents learned ways to continue their child's education at home.
