 The Guernsey County State Highway Patrol said 3 people were transported in a two car accident on  route 40 just outside of New Concord Friday evening. One person was transported to Genesis hospital here in Zanesville and two were transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. We'll bring you more on as it becomes available.

The Highway Patrol has announced the location of Friday's sobriety checkpoints. Here in Muskingum County Zanesville Post troopers will be set up on Northpointe Drive from 8 to 11 p.m. The Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol says their sobriety checkpoint will be located on State Route 93 between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. The checkpoints will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes. The Highway Patrol needs your help finding a missing person. Lt. Matt Boyd says 71-year-old Nina Haney went missing from Urichsville in Tuscarawas County on Monday. She was last seen driving westbound on I-70 near Maple Avenue on Sunday around 9:30 in the evening. At the time a caller reported her vehicle and license number to the patrol as a reckless driver. Boyd says Haney suffered from dementia. She is 5’1” tall, 150 pounds with blue eyes and brownish gray hair. She has mole on the left...

Rainy conditions made for slick roads and poor driving conditions this afternoon.

The South Zanesville Fire Department responded to a call around 1PM of a vehicle that hydroplaned and rolled into the yard of a home at 2290 Pinkerton.

"Wet road conditions, coming around the corner maybe a little too fast, just hydroplaned maybe and just went right on it's side," said J.T. Roberts, Firefighter for South Zanesville Department.

Highway Patrol Lieutenant Matt Boyd says this time last year, there were 969 confirmed traffic fatalities in Ohio. That number has dipped down to 823 so far in 2013. Lt. Boyd attributes the decrease to a number of things including educating young and older drivers, who make up the majority of traffic accidents, and an increased presence of troopers on the roadways.

The Highway Patrol says it plans to be out on area roads Friday as part of an event called “All Out Day”.  Zanesville Post Lt. The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol is asking for help in connection with an accident. It happened Saturday May 21st around 9:00 in the morning on US 22 in front of the Vac Shack in Guernsey County. The number of traffic fatalities in Coshocton County is more than twice the number the county saw in all of 2008 and authorities are taking notice.

This year 11 people have lost their lives in vehicle accidents, while five were killed in 2008. Troopers at the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol are seeing common factors in the crashes.
