The owners of Hillis Funeral Home, located on Forest Ave. in Zanesville, have retired and sold the company. Business partners and new owners of the funeral home, Tim Combs and Paul Nestor have petitioned The State Board of The Ohio Funeral Directors and Embalmers to change the name of the funeral home to Hillis,Combs and Nestor.

Friends, family and former students, dressed in karate uniforms, gathered to say a final goodbye to a 7th degree Black Belt Grand Master.

63 year-old Jeffrey Moore died Thursday. A native of Zanesville, Moore founded the Coszacks School of Self-Defense in 1970, and taught martial arts classes at Ohio University, Zanesville.

Funeral Director and close friend, Jeff Hardwick said it's traditional for a karate gi to be worn to honor a Grand Master.

Hundreds lined up outside Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon to offer prayers and condolences after the tragic death of 14 year-old Grant Hickman of Zaneville.

Three close friends of Hickman shared their story of what his life meant to them.... Trenton Dodson will be a Sophomore at Tri Valley High School. He said their group of friends all played a variety of sports -- Hickman football-- but it was skate boarding that truly brought the group together.
