For the first time since they were allowed to schedule three scrimmages, the Zanesville football team did just that as they opened up their preseason slate earlier this morning against Coshocton.

The Blue Devils, who are coming of a 6-4 2011, got to compete against a perennial playoff contender and came out of the test pretty well. The two sides played full speed seven on seven drills before lining up and running offensive plays as a team before ending the scrimmage. For Coshocton it...

The year was 1987 and Buster Howe was a senior football player with the Blue Devils and he had offers from a number of major universities trying to recruit him to their campuses, but at the time little did he know he would win an award that would change the face of Ohio football forever.

Tonight the ZHS Quarterback Club held a dinner to honor the first ever Mr. Ohio Football winner at the Zanesville Cafetorioum. Howe who still resides in Zanesville was honored by his former coach Whit...

The score may not indicate it, but the Muskingum Valley All-Stars controlled their Licking County counterparts in the 31st annual clash between the two counties 20-3.

Muskingum Valley's defense was a puzzle that Licking County couldn't solve all night as the MVL boys were able to limit Licking County to just 93 total yards. Kole Buckley, Jared Dalton, and Dalton McGlaughlin all racked up sacks and Austin Craig forced a fumble on the defensive side of the ball.  On offense,...

Division IV, Region 15 Final at Sulsberger Stadium:

Johnstown-Monroe 27 Coshocton 24

One big play is all it takes to swing momentum in a game. For the Coshocton Redskins, a fourth and two rumble to the end zone by Ross Franklin, was the shift that knocked them from the playoffs.

Coshocton had trouble stopping Franklin all night on the ground as the running back tallied four touchdowns, three in the first half,...

Division II Region 7 Semi-Final at Gahana Lincoln:

#3 New Albany 7 #2 Tri-Valley 24

It didn't live up to the game that it was a year ago but for Tri-Valley fans as long as the result was the same that was all that mattered, and that is exactly what happened. For the first time in school history the Scotties are advancing to the Regional Finals thanks in large part to their running game. Austin Jones...

When the 2010 season started no one expected the Philo Electrics to be the surprise team in the league, but there they were entering week six with a real shot at post season play. 6-4 is not a record to be celebrated to often but after recent struggles in Duncan Falls the Electrics were estatic about it.
