A five car injury accident occurred on eastbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 146 Monday evening.

The call for the accident came at about 9:30. We spoke to Kevin Kelley, Sergeant of the Ohio State Highway Patrol who told us how the crash happened.

"There was a vehicle. It was a full sized passenger van. It was hauling a trailer. It was going westbound on 70 and lost control--what he described as black ice....As he was going across the median, several cars going eastbound...

Motorists who travel Interstate 70 east through Zanesville may experience some delays.
 

The Ohio Department of Transportation has closed the passing lane at the Underwood Street interchange for pavement repairs.
 

The lane is expected to reopen to traffic by Friday May 27th weather permitting.

A man is cited with failure to control after a rollover crash on I-70 East.

Trooper Adam McKenzie of the State Highway Patrol says at around 6 p.m. Ryan Scalan, 23, of Virginia swerved to miss a deer near the State Route 83 exit.

"The white Ford 150 was east bound on 70 traveled off the right side of the roadway struck the embankment overturned and then struck the highway sign," he said.

The east bound lanes of Interstate 70 in Licking County have been re-opened after two separate accidents involving multiple vehicles.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol says the first accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday at the State Route 13 exit.

The second accident happened a short time later just east of State Route 13.

Both accidents involved multiple vehicles.

The Patrol says that area of I-70 was shutdown for about an hour while crews...

The Granville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an early morning crash that killed one person. It happened at mile marker 130 on I-70 East. A semi tractor trailer was sitting along I-70 East when a Chevy Lumina, driven by 39-year-old David Valentine of Columbus, struck the rear of the trailer. Valentine is in stable condition at Grant Medical Center. His passenger, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under...
