The Neighborhood Revitalization Grant Program will be divvying up $3 million to 11 cities in the state of Ohio to help improve what the Ohio Department of Development is calling distressed areas.

The city of Zanesville is getting $225,000 for work in the East End Neighborhood. The main focus will be to install more than 10,000 feet of street paving material, around 1,500 feet of water lines, three water hydrants, 2,600 feet of sewer lines, and 15 manholes.

A press box now stands atop new visitor bleachers at Sulsberger Stadium in Zanesville.

Crews started working from the ground up last week. It's about a $450,000 project that's coming from general funds in the projected five-year forecast.

Buckeye Lake's Shore on the north end of the state park is ready for people to experience the newly renovated area.

There's a three-lane concrete ramp and more boating docks for boaters. The entrance road was widened, additional parking is included, and a dry hydrant was put in for firefighters.

The project spanned five years and cost more than $600,000 to complete.

The old Vista View Golf Course is re-opening as Vista Golf Course.

The Lepi family bought the property back in May and held a soft opening today.

"It's been closed since last fall, so obviously it needed a lot of work. It's going to need a lot of work in the future too. This is one of those things that's going to be ongoing-that we're going to keep doing this year and years to come, " says Club House Manager, Ryan Schmidt.

The city of Zanesville will not be purchasing bonds to pay for improvements to Secrest Auditorium.

City council defeated the motion by a narrow margin. Andrew Roberts was one of the councilmen who voted against the measure.

"In the financial situation that we're in right now, I didn't see it fitting that we spend additional moneys for some of those things, " says Roberts.

Mayor Howard Zwelling didn't agree with the decision but failed to comment on the issue.

You may have noticed a few safety additions to Maple Avenue in Zanesville.

After the construction updates on the main road last summer, the city and Ohio Department of Transportation worked together to improve the project in both access and safety.

The City of Cambridge is proclaiming April Fair Housing Month.

In honor of that, the Economic and Community Development Department is working with City Engineer Steve Sherry to make improvements around the city for disabled citizens.
