The State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on Interstate 70 just past the 40 West exit.

The Patrol reports that the accident , which occurred just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, involved a Semi and an SUV.

Traffic was at a standstill for nearly an hour.

Shortly after 4:30 Friday evening, authorities responded to the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident on Interstate 70 East near the Gratiot Exit.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Edgardo Muniz Gonzalez of Columbus was riding a white Kawasaki EX300 when he went off the right side of the road and crashed into the guardrail near mile marker 142.  The patrol said he was wearing a helmet but that the helmet was found several feet from the initial crash...

Highway resurfacing will cause lane restrictions near Gratiot starting Monday, April 19th. 

Crews will be resurfacing lanes at the Gratiot interchange and five miles east in Muskingum County. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation there will also be resurfacing on Mount Perry Road at the Gratiot interchange.

Flaggers will be used on Mount Perry Road. Closures on I-70 will be limited between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p....

For the second time in three weeks a driver made way onto the wrong side of Interstate 70 in Zanesville.

Around 7:45 Wednesday morning the Zanesville Police Department received numerous calls reporting that an elderly man was heading east in the westbound lanes of I-70.

A semi accident on Interstate 70 has closed one lane of traffic. 

A dispatcher with the Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol said the accident is in the westbound lane of Interstate 70 near Old Washington. 

Currently the left lane is closed to traffic in that area until the semi can be removed. There's no word on what caused the accident or when the lane of traffic will reopen. No injuries were reported.

Motorists who travel on Interstate 70 east of Zanesville have likely noticed some orange barrels in the past couple of months, and soon there will be a lane shift as well.

It's all part of a project by the Ohio Department of Transportation to fill old coal mines that sit underneath the roadway.

Two separate single car accidents occurred within miles of each other on Interstate 70 eastbound Sunday afternoon just east of Zanesville.

Sgt. Melanie Appleman with the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said they received a call at 3:47 p.m. of a single car rollover accident with injuries. The accident occurred near the rest area on I-70 east of Zanesville when the female driver lost control of her Toyota minivan.

The State Highway Patrol investigated an injury accident on Interstate 70.

The Granville Post of the State Patrol said that it's unknown at this time what caused the accident; which took place on Interstate 70 west near Etna.

A dispatcher said one vehicle was involved and two occupants suffered non life threatening injures. They were transported by ambulance to Grant Medical Center.

The accident took place just before 3:00 a.m.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that an exit ramp on Interstate 70 is no reopen.

The I-70 westbound exit ramp for Maple Avenue is now open to traffic, sixteen days ahead of schedule. The ramp has been closed for over a month while a bridge rehabilitation project was completed.

The project cost over $730,000 to complete.

Troopers from the Zanesville Post responded to the scene of an accident around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon when a Ford Explorer carrying two people was driving westbound on I-70 near mile post 166. The SUV rolled over multiple times and ejected the two people in the vehicle.
