Ohio has lost 282 heroes fighting the War on Terror both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bud Johnson, who helps put this event on every year says the Ohio Flags of Honor is one way to honor and remember them.

Friday was the ceremony dedicating part of the highway to U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Lester "Buddy" Kinney II, who was killed in 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The dedication ceremony was held in the fire hall at the South Zanesville Fire Department where Buddy's family, friends and local officials spoke on his behalf.

A 24-year-old soldier from Newark has been killed in Iraq.

The Department of Defense announced 1st Lt. Michael L. Runyan died Wednesday. They say he was killed when insurgents attacked his convoy vehicle with a bomb in Muqdadiyah.

He was based in Hawaii and assigned to the 52nd Infantry, 2nd Stryker Brigade. The brigade just arrived in Iraq this month.
