Keeping food up to standards at county fairs can give vendors a challenge.  

Health inspectors head out to the Muskingum County Fair everyday. During the first couple days, inspectors check every vendor to make sure that they're up to all health codes. After which, they go around and make random stops throughout the week.

From funnel cakes to chicken dinners, the Zanesville Muskiingum County Health Department is making sure all the food at the Muskingum County Fair is safe for consumption.

Celebrating the 4th of July with a cookout is a fun way to commemorate the holiday.

For those planning an outdoor event there's a way to keep you and your family from getting sick from the food that you eat. A Muskingum County Health Department Sanitarian said it all starts with washing your hands before cooking or eating and use a meat thermometer to make sure food is cooked to the correct temperature.

This weekend marks the opening of pool and swim season.
