It's been 12 years since the city of Zanesville has purchased new trucks to be used for snow removal and dozens of other jobs.

As paving season begins, the city introduces the newest trucks in its fleet. Compared to the older trucks with ten foot beds, the new ones have stainless steel, 11 foot beds. Mayor Jeff Tilton explained how the new trucks will be put to use.

The City of Zanesville announces there will be no disruption of sanitation service over the Independence Day holiday.

The holiday occurs on Friday of next week. The City says crews will collect refuse and recycling on their normal schedules, and there should be no delay in service.

Zanesville City Street crews had their hands full dealing with this weekend blast of winter.

Street Superintendent, Jeff Shook says that his 13 man team alternates days and nights to plow and salt the roads.. He says they have a plan of action and follows it to ensure the highest amount of safety for the largest amount of Zanesville residents.

Officials from the Zanesville City Street Department were on call on Saturday to deal with the severe winter weather.

Potholes have been popping up around the city and officials from the Zanesville Street Department say they are working to patch them up.
