The Muskingum County Center for Seniors remains closed Thursday after a serious roof problem.

It closed last week after the roof began leaking, and the search continues for a temporary home for the center. Muskingum County Commissioner, Jim Porter, says it's still an ongoing process.

The Muskingum County Commissioners accepted three bids Thursday for a water supply expansion project for the Northwest Water System.

The river crossing will service the county's west end customers where water is currently purchased from the city.

Some area officials fear a plan by the Ohio Department of Transportation could have severe consequences for those that travel State Route 60 near Dresden.

While a roadway may exist on paper in reality finding it can be a bit of a challenge.

That's the problem Salem Township resident John Wofter brought before Muskingum County Commissioners. Wofter recently bought a piece of property, but can't access it by vehicle because it's surrounded by land owned by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

On Thursday, the Muskingum County Commissioner's received bids from two companies to replace 28 deteriorating manholes and pipelines.

"Over the period of years, there's been a lot of different chemicals or what-have-you, put in that line and they were concrete manholes and they are deteriorating," said Commissioner Jim Porter. "Some of them, there's nothing there but a lid actually. So we've got a major problem out that way."
