In the first meeting of the year at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority discussions get underway for their plans in 2014.

For the last 18 months the port has discussed creating a new job ready site to draw businesses to our area. Executive Director Mike Jacoby said they've run out of larger sites at Eastpointe and believes the timing to move forward on the project is good.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority takes steps to sell a piece of Eastpointe property.

At Wednesday's meeting the Port Board authorized Executive Director Mike Jacoby to enter into an agreement with CB Richard Ellis, the largest North American brokerage firm. The hope is they'll be able to help sell the Job Ready Site at Eastpointe.

The Muskingum County Port Authority discusses option for rail at the Eastpointe Business Park.

Four options are up for consideration. The first would put nearly two miles of rail to the Job Ready Site.  The Port Authority would also receive $800,000 in grant money to help fund the cost estimated at $3.2 million.

The Job Ready Site is, well, ready-and welcoming business to Muskingum County.

The piece of property is located in the EastPointe Business Park and is now certified by the state. Port Authority executive director Mike Jacoby says now work is underway to find a tenant.

"It's one of the bigger shovel-ready sites in Ohio. It's top five, probably, so it could accommodate a very large building. If a big project was considering Ohio, it could come here," says Jacoby.

The Zanesville-Muskingum Port Authority is awaiting final approval on it's job ready site at the Eastpointe Industrial Park from the Ohio Department of Development.

That approval could come with-in the week. Executive Director Mike Jacoby said that the official certification would make the Job Ready Site one of the first manufacturing JRS's in the state. It's four years of work that the port is hoping to pay off since most of the port's income comes from selling property.

The Job Ready Site at the Eastpointe Industrial Park is closer to becoming the first in the state to be certified for a manufacturing operation.

Wednesday, Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby, the Austin Company and the Ohio Department of Development toured the site.

The Port Authority clears up a hitch with the Job Ready Site at Wednesday's meeting.

The Zanesville-Muskingum Port Authority Board has agreed to pay $36,000 in order to clear up an oil and gas lease on 100 acres of the Job Ready Site in the Eastpointe Business Park.

Muskingum County has put millions of dollars into the job ready site in the EastPointe Business Park and today officials got to show off all their hard work.

Muskingum Growth Partnership sponsored a luncheon for developers and county officals at the job ready site in hopes of selling the site to a developer. Around 60 people attended the luncheon and received information about the 300 acre site.

A Newark company will begin work on the job ready site in the Eastpointe Industrial Park.

At Friday's Muskingum County Port Authority meeting board members award Rayco the $200,000 project to finish grading a 102 acre pad. The Port's executive director says that will use most of the funds left to develop the area.
