The Animal Shelter Society has a new furry friend available for adoption.

Meet Bev, the shelters featured pet this week. She is a 5 year old female cat, and has been living at the shelter for about two months now. Bev is up to date on all her shots and has had her surgery. The Animal Shelter is featuring Rayna, a four-year-old mix breed.

Rayna is this weeks pet of the week, and you can take her home for just a $125. Jody Murray, the Executive Director of The Animal Shelter said Rayna is a great dog for any style of household.

We Love Pets is hosting its 14th customer appreciation event Saturday afternoon.

The Animal Shelter Society is preparing for two events this coming month.

The first annual Paws and Claws Summer Jam will be held Saturday, August 30th at Zane Landing Park. The event will feature the local band, Double Cut, pizza, drinks and a cornhole tournament with payouts to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Fleas may be a bad thing for pets, but flea markets, on the other hand, can be very beneficial.

Each week, The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County highlights a pet available for adoption.

This week, Lynard is in need of someone to give him a good home. He is a 1 1/2 year old English Bulldog and Beagle Mix. He's very playful, full of energy and does very well with other dogs.
