Gone are the times for WIC recipients having to dig through a pile of vouchers at the grocery store.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is rolling out it's new WIC debit cards this week. The cards take the many coupons and compiles them into a single, reloadable card. Despite a partial government shutdown, one local federally funded program that helps mothers and young children will continue.

The amount Americans spend on eating out is on the rise.

In the 1960 the Centers for Disease Control said 26 percent of money spent on food went to eating out. In 2011, 49 percent of the money spent on food went to eating out. One expert said that it's important to make healthy choices when going to restaurants.
