Today was the second day for the trial of a former Muskingum University student charged in the death of her newborn baby.

One of two men charged in a November drug bust was sentenced in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Cory R. Christian of Zanesville to four years in prison for possession of drugs Oxycodone, possession of drugs heroin, three counts of having a weapon while under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

A New Mexico woman is banned from returning to the State of Ohio.

Judge Mark Fleegle placed 21-year-old Ginger Maurer on community control for five months and told her to leave Muskingum County and the state and return to her native New Mexico within seven days.

A weapon seized in her case will be forfeited to the state to be destroyed.

Maurer faced one charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a count which she plead guilty to in October.

A Zanesville man facing his seventh OVI appears in Muskingum Common Pleas Court on Monday.

Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced 40-year-old Scott Mautz to thirty months in prison on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a second count was dropped at sentencing.

He also will have his driver's license suspended for life and pay a mandatory fine. He will undergo drug and alcohol treatment while in prison.

An area man has been arraigned on charges of unlawful possession of explosives.

40-year-old Anthony Osborn of Blue Rock faces four counts of illegal manufacturing or processing of explosives and four counts of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance. 

He plead not guilty in front of Judge Mark Fleegle and bond was continued at $100,000.

The Former assistant fire chief of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department was arraigned in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday morning. 

Adam Siddle faces a combined 16 counts of theft, telecommunications fraud, forgery and money laundering. The charges stem from a six month investigation, and all together, Siddle is charged with the theft of nearly $1 million. Timothy Daniel has spent the last three months in county jail and now he'll spend the rest of his life in prison.

A Zanesville man enters pleas to several charges including robbery. 

In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on Monday, 38-year-old Teddie Hunter plead guilty to one count of robbery and a second amended robbery count. Three other charges will be dropped at the time of sentencing.

A Zanesville man will spend four years in prison for crimes connected to a July drug bust.

Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced 41-year-old Anthony Williams to prison on possession of drugs and two counts of having a weapon while under disability.

Williams pled guilty to the crimes in September. He also had to pay a fine of $7,500 and must forfeit any weapons and be on post release control for three years once released from prison.
