The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Junction City man early Saturday morning.

You never know what you're going to find when you're rummaging through a loved one's most personal possessions, and for a Perry County family, that couldn't be more accurate.

"They found a grocery sized bag of human hair," said Junction City Police Chief Amy English.

Relatives of 70-year-old John Moore turned over the bag to Chief English.

The quiet village of Junction City in Perry County woke up to a buzz this morning as news of the wig-wearing bank robber quickly spread.

According to FBI Special Agent Harry Trombiatas, it all began shortly before 10 o'clock Thursday morning at First National Bank of McConnelsville. A man wearing a long, black wig slipped a note to the teller demanding money. Without argument she handed over the cash.

The scorching heat wasn't enough to stop Fourth of July celebrations across the area....

Sunday was the 39th July 4th Celebration held in Junction City. A committee organizes the event each year to include a car show and raffle drawings for the adults...bounce houses and pony rides for the kids....and vendors of all types for the whole family. A boil advisory has been issued in Junction City. Official says a water main break occurred and has since been fixed, but officials Friday issued the boil alert. It remains in effect until further notice.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office had a busy Wednesday searching for a suspect who possibly drowned in a creek in Junction City.

Sergeant John Russel said around 10 a.m. dispatchers received a call of an intoxicated man walking along State Route 37 near Flag Dale Road heading towards Lancaster.

Authorities say a head on crash in Junction City sent two people to the hospital. One of the drivers was taken from the scene by Medflight.
 

The accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Friday near  Junction City Elementary School.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office arrest a woman in connection to a drug bust in Junction City.

Friday deputies with the Perry County Sheriff's Office and agents with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 310 Poplar Street.

Sheriff's Sgt Kevin Starrett said that the investigation was into the trafficking of methadone in front of juveniles at the residence.

Deputies aren't releasing the woman's name until formal charges are filed.

14-year-old Robert Hazzlett of Junction City was taken by helicopter in serious condition to Children's Hospital in Columbus after being struck by a truck Friday afternoon in Perry County.

It happened shortly before 3 p.m. in front of the People's National Bank on State Route 37 in Junction City. Authorities say it seems the teen did not see a Dodge pick-up truck traveling westbound.

A Junction City man is left without a home after a fire Wednesday night. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross says the fire broke out in the home of Roger Gleason at 105 East Front Street around 9:30. Junction City fire officials say the home is a complete loss. The Red Cross is assisting with funds to go go shopping for clothes and food and he will be staying with friends. Gleason has no insurance.
