A Zanesville man was sentenced Wednesday in connection with a stabbing incident last February.

26-year-old Kerron Brantley appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court where he received a seven year prison term on charges of felonious assault, breaking and entering and tampering with evidence.

Brantley was also facing an attempted murder charge but that was dropped at the time of sentencing.

A Zanesville man is in custody in connection to a stabbing incident at a church.

Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox said 25-year-old Kerron Brantley is facing up to 16 years in prison if convicted.  He's charged with one count each of attempted murder, felonious assault, breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said it happened Wednesday at 1930 Newark Road at the First Church of God. ...
