Two vehicles collided on S.R. 13 in Monroe Township in Perry County early Saturday evening. 

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol reported the accident happened around 5:25 p.m. The State Patrol confirmed Austin Devolld, 25, of Zanesville was traveling southbound on S.R. 13 in a 2003 Dodge Pick-up. At which point, Matthew Handa, 37, of Glouster was heading northbound on S.R. 13, towing a small trailer with a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday night in Perry County.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 204 and New Salem Road. When troopers arrived, they found a Pontiac G6 driven by 44-year-old Rebecca S. Silva of Thornville with heavy damage to the passenger side door and a Yamaha motorcycle driven by 56-year-old Timothy A. White of Thornville with heavy front end damage.

A sobriety checkpoint will take place Friday night in Lancaster. 

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol, the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office and the Lancaster Police Department will work together to hold the checkpoint on East Main Street from 8-10pm.

The OVI checkpoint is funded through federal grants and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said they'll hold a sobriety checkpoint this week.

The county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day prior to the checkpoint and the location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint. 

Authorities said if you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arraignments before you drink.

The State Highway Patrol said speed is believed to be a factor in an early Wednesday morning crash that killed one person.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said around 1:30 Wednesday morning, 22-year-old Robert R. Canter of Lancaster was traveling south on County road 33A, when he failed to maintain control of his vehicle.

A Perry County man remains in critical condition following a crash Wednesday night.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Johnathon Leach, of Junction City, was traveling east on Marietta Road around 9:15 p.m. when his vehicle traveled off the roadway. Leach lost control and traveled back onto the roadway, where it overturned.

A motorcycle accident has claimed the life of a Junction City man.
