The 2015 annual report for the Muskingum County Library System is now available to see.

The Muskingum County Library System's 2014 annual report is available for public viewing.

In 2014 for every $1.00 invested in the library's general revenue fund area residents received $4.90 cents in library materials, resources, programs and technology.

Local kids are encouraged to dive into reading this summer.

Muskingum County Libraries are preparing for their summer reading program for 2013. The 6 week event is called "Dig into Reading". The students are encouraged to dig into different subjects including, treasures, travels and dinosaurs. Assistant Director, Blair Tom says it's important to keep kids reading throughout the summer months.

The Muskingum County Library System is continuing to expand its use of technology.

The John McIntire Library in Zanesville recently added eight laptops to its facility. Last year, 52,000 hours of public computer use were logged, creating an increased demand for internet access.

One area library is hoping to recruit new readers.

Crossroads Library in Cambridge hosted its Second Annual "Writers at the Crossroads" event on Saturday. 17 local authors gathered to read samples of their work to the public. Organizer J. Paulette Foshey said their goal was to show adults how much fun the library can be.

The Muskingum County Library System is boasting a good return on investment.

For every dollar coming into the library for 2010 through a levy and state funding, it returned $5.69 in services, resources, and programs.

Public libraries here in Ohio could be facing some budget cuts in 2011.

Without any solid information regarding the 2011 funding for libraries, Public Relations Manager Blair Tom says he knows the legislature is looking for efficient and effective service delivery.  Tom says he has been locally meeting with staff and community focus groups to identify those areas.

The John McIntire Library in Zanesville is beginning to see more activity now that winter has arrived.

Public Relations Manager Blair Tom said with the frigid weather, many people are more inclined to stay indoors and do familiy activities like visiting the library.
