A Licking County High School went into lockdown Monday after authorities say a death threat was made against a staff member.
The Licking County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating a threatening message that was written on the wall inside a boys bathroom at Watkins Memorial High School .
Officials placed the school in a stage two lockdown which meant students could not be in the hallways during class.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office said they received at least four calls Tuesday night in regards to sightings of exotic animals. Though none on the sightings could be confirmed by law enforcement.
As a precaution the sheriff's office has activated members of its SWAT team. The team is equipped with night vision and necessary weapons to deal with any encounters as such animals may pose an inherent threat to county residents.

The Licking County Coroner agrees with the findings of the Licking County Sheriff's Office in the death of two family members over the weekend at a Granville home.
The coroners' office said they've ruled the death of 8-year-old Jeremy Straight as homicide and the death of 43-year-old Joyce Straight a sucide.
Authorites said that Friday July 29, 2011 Joyce Straight shot her son and then turned the weapon on herself taking her own life.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office investigates the shooting death of a Pataskala man.
Deputies responded to 77 West Fieldstone Drive on a reported shooting incident around 3:00am July 17th.
That's when deputies found 50-year-old Richard Reeb inside the home with a single fatal gunshot wound.
48-year-old Sherrie Chafin-Eucker who also lived at the home told authorities the shooting was an accident.

According to Licking County Sheriffs' Office Sunday morning at about 3am Deputies responded to 77 West Fieldstone Pataskala, Ohio. Upon arrival Deputies found Richard Reeb II deceased in an upstairs bedroom with a gunshot wound to his chest. At this time it appears the shooting was accidental, however the incident remains under investigation.

A Buckeye Lake man's case will go before a Licking County Grand Jury Thursday.
56-year-old Randall Hoskinson was arrested June 11 in connection to a robbery at the Certified Gas Station located on Lancaster Road in Hebron.
Licking County Sheriff's Deputies said that Hoskinson came to the gas station and pumped gas, he then entered the store and gathered two cartons of cigarettes and alcohol.

A Newark man is under arrest for the rape of a family acquaintance.
According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office, a 42-year-old woman alleges that on May 27, 2011 69-year-old Richard Barr entered her residence and forcefully engaged in sexual conduct with her.
The Sheriff's Office says during their investigation Barr admitted to the crime. He was arrested on one felony count of rape and taken to the Licking County Jail.

A Utica man accused of embezzling more than $1 million from several area businesses is arrested in Muskingum County.
The Licking County Sheriff's Office reports that around 10 a.m. Friday, 43-year-old Mark Cherubini was arrested on State Route 586 by Muskingum County Sheriff's deputies and Licking County detectives.

A robbery suspect in Licking County gets away with less than $100 from a pizza store.
Authorities continue their search for a man who robbed a Dominos Pizza Store in Pataskala around 4pm Monday.
Sheriff's detectives said the white male entered the store and demanded money from the register after brandishing a small handgun.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Pataskala Police Department assisted in the search for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

Licking County Authorities are looking for a person of interest in the murder of a 37-year-old St. Louisville resident.
Authorities said they were sent to 419 South Main Street in St. Louisville around 7pm Monday in regards to a possible shooting.
