Red, white and gold balloons filled Ohio University Zanesville to bring awareness to a serious disease.

Thursday was the 8th annual Light The Night Walk. The event is a part of larger nationwide mission to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The funds raised will go towards education and research initiatives that doctors hope one day will lead to a cure.

Red balloons are filling the campus at Ohio University-Zanesville.

The 5th Annual Light The Night Walk took place Thursday evening. It's a part of a nationwide event to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

It may be raining tonight, but that didn't stop hundreds of people from gathering at OUZ and Zane State College.

The 'Light The Night Walk' provided dinner, music and family fun, but the event had a very serious purpose.
