 Sergeant Jon McCoy with the Zanesville Police Department said alcohol is believed to be a factor in a two car injury crash earlier Saturday.

According to Sergeant McCoy the driver of a maroon van was heading south-bound on Linden Avenue when he collided into an unoccupied 2002 silver Mercedes which the driver claims he didn't see. The driver continued driving pushing the Mercedes approximately 100 to 200 feet south on Linden Avenue, into on-coming traffic and then off the road....

The Zanesville Police Department says Linden Avenue is closed Tuesday morning after a contractor struck a two inch natural gas pipeline. It happened on Linden Avenue between Hoge and Tileston around 9:15. The Zanesville Fire Department is evacuating some homes in the area as a precaution until the gas leak can be repaired. Police say drugs are likely to blame for a two vehicle accident in Zanesville that sent two women to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

It happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Linden Avenue, near AK Steel.

Zanesville city officials announce a portion of Linden Avenue will be closed Wednesday.

The road will be closed to traffic from the Y-Bridge to McIntire Avenue for pavement resurfacing.

The work will take place weather permitting.

Motorists should use an alternate route.

The City and the Genesis Wyoming Railroad are working hand in hand to complete repairs of the sinkhole on Linden Avenue.

We spoke to Chip Saunders, Engineer for the City of Zanesville who told us they had to dig 20 feet down to the location of the hole and reinforce it with 12 foot wide trench boxes. Saunders told us just how the sinkhole appeared on the roadway.

Just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday scanner traffic indicated a car chase involving a vehicle leaving a drug house.

The chase went on to Linden Avenue, and according to scanner traffic, the vehicle being pursued hit another vehicle on Lee Street. Officials indicated the suspect was going 65 miles per hour on State Route 146 and ran a traffic light at Adams Lane before the vehicle wrecked and flipped in front of the Muskingum Recreation Center.

An accident Tuesday night resulted in the driver of a scooter being sent to the hospital.

According to Zanesville Police, the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the intersection of Linden Avenue and Adair Avenue. Police said the driver of a white Chevy pickup truck made an illegal left hand turn and struck the scooter. The truck then fled the scene. The sheriff's office was able to track down the vehicle a short while after on Dale Road.

A portion of Linden Avenue in Zanesville will be closed next week.
 

City Officials say the roadway will be closed from Lee Street to the Y-Bridge Monday, August 25 through Friday ,August 29.
 

Crews will be repairing and painting the roadway.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office is alerting motorists of a road repair project on Linden Avenue.
 

Officials say the road will be closed between Military Road and Taylor Street  starting Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. each day.

The intersection of Linden Avenue and Military Road will also be closed to traffic.
 

Motorists should use an alternate route during this time.
