A new tradition in Duncan Falls began this Veterans Day to honor those who have served our country. Timing couldn't have been better for the Johnson family, a family who's veteran gave the ultimate sacrifice. World War II veteran Private Marion O. Johnson was the first to be recognized by the Duncan Falls-Philo Lions Club. Johnson was lost at sea after the sinking of the HMT Rohna.

Fifth grade students in three different state become part of a project to keep them working hard even when it gets tough.

The "Going On or Defeated" program kicked off Wednesday for Zanesville City Schools. Former school teacher Ron Derry came up with "GOOD". Derry is blind and shares with students his experiences in order to encourage them not to give up, be good listeners, learners and leaders.

Eating at one local restaurant chain can help fight diabetes in Southeastern Ohio.

Thursday, if you eat at any of the three Bob Evans chains in Zanesville from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., fifteen percent of the proceeds will go to the Lions Club and will then be donated to Genesis for their Diabetes Education Fund.

The Lions Club of Duncan Falls hosted a lunch this afternoon to thank and honor the veterans of our country. Lions member Steve Tyo says it's also important to show support of active duty soldiers.

Many people spent their holiday outside and with family. The Frazeysburg Car Show was no different.

Approximately 80 classic cars tooled into Frazeysburg, and families used to event to spend time with one another.

"My nieces and nephews, my great nieces and nephews, and it's just making it a big family affair here, it's really great," says Donna Wisecarver.

The Frazeysburg Lions Club has more items to bid on at this year's Soup Supper and Public Auction...a total of 130.

It's the club's biggest fundraiser of the year, and members expect the event to bring in between five and six thousand dollars.

This is also the 33rd year for the event, and Public Auction Chairman, Gerald Howard, says it wouldn't be possible without help from the community. He says local businesses and individuals have donated the items....
