Zanesville's famed Lorena Sternwheeler is set to be rolling on the river again beginning this weekend.

Kelly Ashby with the Chamber of Commerce said the 70 passenger boat has been a staple of Muskingum County for well over 60 years. In addition to a nice hour long cruise, your ticket to ride comes with plenty of other perks as well.

Ashby says there will be public rides, dinner, lunch and twilight cruises and a variety of different themed rides too.

The Coast Guard came back to Zanesville, Tuesday, to further inspect the 104 foot long boat. The first time in Zanesville they came to the conclusion that there was serious damage to the boat, but Captain Page said another look changed their opinion.

"We had some damage to the side of the hull from an electric current type thing that hadn't existed before," said Lorena Captain...

The Lorena could spend her summer season on shore.

The sternwheeler was expected back in the Muskingum River May 1 after it was removed last week for a coast guard inspection.

Muskingum County Commissioner Jim Porter said that to run this summer the vessel must have serious work done. The Coast Guard found several areas that need rewelded and a lot of the hull on the sides has to be replaced and that could come at a major expense.

Currently, the county's maintenance...
