A problem with a building in Downtown Zanesville forced the temporary closing of a sidewalk on Main Street Friday morning.

Some bricks fell from the right corner of the Olde Towne Antique Mall at 527 Main Street. The Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene along with Code Enforcement Officer Tim Smith. A portion of Main Street was closed for a little more than a half hour around 4:00 p.m. tonight. The Zanesville Police Department responded to a semi truck that ran over the bell at the corner of 6th and Main. Traffic was diverted from Main Street between 6th and 7th streets while the truck was lifted off the bell. ZPD said that besides between 6th and 7th streets traffic patterns weren't disturbed and that it is back to normal now.

While responding to a report of a hawk inside a vacant building in downtown Zanesville, the Zanesville Fire Department discovered part of side-by-side buildings had collapsed. City of Zanesville building official, Tim Smith, says both 606 and 608 Main Street are partially collapsed and will likely need to be demolished. A two-vehicle accident shuts down parts of downtown Zanesville this afternoon.

According to Sargeant Chris Phipps with the Zanesville police department, a black Dodge Avenger was traveling northbound on Sixth Street and collided with a Chrysler mini-van that was traveling eastbound on Main Street. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating a domestic dispute that led to a woman being stabbed.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. at 570 Main Street in Duncan Falls.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says the man allegedly stabbed the woman twice. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with what deputies are calling non life-threatening injuries. Lutz says his office is waiting to take statements from the couple, who are believed to be married, to determine a motive.

Westbound onto Y-Bridge is closed again due to water main issues on Main Street.

A non-functioning part of the water line cracked causing three businesses to go without water for part of the day.

"The fitting itself split, just a few feet a few yards away from where we fixed it last week so we had to dig it out and remove the old T and just did a straight connector," said Public Service Director, Mike Sims.
