Mayor Tilton began his Monday night State of the City speech by talking about the vast accomplishments in the City of Zanesville this past year.

One local celebrity puckered up to a lovely milk maid Saturday to raise money for the Zanesville Civic League Community Center.

The community day was hosted by the Civic League, and the community came together for fun, food, music and the Kiss the Cow fundraiser. The City of Zanesville in partnership with Walmart picked six winners for their annual Zanesville Art Contest on Thursday.

Zanesville's Mayor, Jeff Tilton says that Walmart provides the city with $500 to purchase prizes for the art contest winners. The award recipients range in grade levels from 1st to 6th grade. Mayor Tilton says he was impressed with the hundreds of drawings he saw and it was tough to pick his favorites.

Mayor Tilton held the annual luncheon for Zanesville city employees at Secrest Auditorium on Friday afternoon.

"This luncheon was started by Jack Fenton way back when and we've just continued it every year to tell our employees that we thank them for everything they do," said Mayor Tilton.

City officials and the Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council agree to terms of fact finding recommendations.

At a Zanesville City Council meeting earlier this month the council voted to accept the fact finding recommendations from the state employment relations board.

Last Thursday, the Police Union, voted 14-4 to also accept the terms. The deal does give raises but because of changes with the pension pick up, Mayor Jeff Tilton said it evens out.

A beloved woman celebrated a milestone Saturday.

Friends and family of Frances "Mama" Bucci gathered at Adornetto's Pizzeria on Maple Avenue to celebrate her 90th birthday.

Mama Bucci's Pizza opened its doors in Zanesville In 1970 on Putnam Avenue, but Bucci started as a cook at Adornetto's restaurant in the 1950s.
