One local organization is continuing its effort to combat the growing hunger problem in our area.

Each day, dozens of people from Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties turn to the United Way's 211 service for help. The numbers are in for the month of October, and once again food assistance tops the list. The United Way and Domino's are teaming up to host an "All You Can Eat" pizza event this Friday.

In the heart of downtown, the Domino's Pizza trailer will be located on the lawn of the Muskingum County Courthouse serving those hungry during lunch hours. The June numbers for the United Way's 211 Call Center are in, showing an increase in the need for food.

The United Way received a total of 917 calls last month, and more than half of those were for food assistance. The United Way partners with Christ's Table, as well as, other hot meal programs in the area.

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties is celebrating a successful campaign season.

Zanesville city employees took a lunch break for a cause Wednesday afternoon.

For the first time, at the James Singer Activity Center, city workers had a chili cook-off to benefit the United Way.
