Local Boy Scout troop 158, along with members of the Am Vets of Muskingum County, spent their Saturday morning remembering the men and women who gave their lives up for our country by visiting Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville and placing an American flag on the nearly 600 graves of the veteran's who rest there.

A new church is reaching out to the community on Memorial Day.

The House of Grace Church on Maysville Pike Road started ministry just 90 days ago and already has big plans. Pastor of the church, Joe Dunlap says he hopes everyone comes out to their memorial day community prayer.

People gathered at Greenwood Cemetery to honor our troops.

The memorial ceremony featured Captain Lydia Marillo from Columbus, as well as the Zanesville High School Band.

Master Sergeant Dick Bowers said it's an emotional time for everyone.

Among the parades and barbecues taking place this Memorial Day one family is hitting the pavement in memory of all the veterans who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Memorial Day is Monday, and the Frazeysburg community is coming together to honor past and current service men and women.

The Zanesville Fire Department wants grillers to be safe this Memorial Day.

 Hundreds of motorcyclists gathered at the Zanesville VFW Wednesday for a unique celebration.

Memorial Day weekend has come to and end and the numbers are in.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol was out in full force over the holiday weekend. State Trooper, Stephen Williams said, more than 600 stops were made, and about 400 of those were given citations. Flags flew at half-staff across Zanesville today, to honor those who have served and those who have passed.

The day was an emotional one for Veteran, Bob Schaumleffel, who returns to Zanesville every year on Memorial Day to take part in the ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery. He said, the community does a wonderful job of remembering men like his father who served in World War II.
