On the final day of the school year, pre-school students at Mid-East are celebrating summer. At the same time, the staff is celebrating high honors from the state.
Learning and development programs in Ohio could apply for the new 'Step up to Quality' rating system this year. Early childhood education instructor, Katie Lucas, said they knew they had to apply for the highest rating. She said the staff is relieved now that they've gotten the five star rating.

The Board of Education has approved Dr. Richard Hall for the position. Dr. Hall currently serves as the superintendent of the East Guernsey Local School District, a position he has held for eight years. Terry Goss from Goss Supply Company has allowed Mid-East students and faculty to repair and update many of the animated Christmas characters that have been on display in Zanesville for many years. Adult Education Admissions Coordinator, Rick Mautz, is working with the talented team since September.

Mid-East is proud to honor Kathryn Sidwell, Martha Spray and Christine Neff for the years of service they have given to the Health Occupations program. The student run restaurant recently went through construction and is now operating as The 400 at Mid-East CTC. The restaurant is run by 21 juniors and seniors who attend Mid-East this year. Thursday night was a special reunion for Mid-East Career and Technology Centers alumni.
Douglas Baker, Stephanie Glassmire, Michael Mason, Mike Rutledge and Mayor of Cambridge Tom Orr were inducted into Mid-East's distinguished alumni hall of fame.
