The Transportation Improvement District plans to apply for funding to help with an area bridge project.

The Grantcliff Bridge needs replaced. It's a multi-year project that requires gas line relocation and right of way that needs to be acquired. The Ohio Department of Transportation District 5 encouraged the TID to apply for a $250,000 grant to help fund the project.

Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby updated the Port on work going on at the Eastpointe Industrial Park.

A rail project is currently underway on Innovation Way in the southern half of the Eastpointe Park. Jacoby said they've started to move the pavement to expand the rail line.

A company wants to join with the Muskingum County Port Authority to market the area to foreign investors.

The Hicks Partners from Columbus are applying with the government to take part in the EB5 program. EB5 lets those in foreign countries invest in American companies. In return the investors will receive a Green Card if at least ten jobs are created for every $500,000.

Muskingum County continues to market itself to potential businesses.

Recently the Port Authority attended a broker's open house in Pittsburgh to show off land, office and manufacturing space available in Muskingum County.

They worked to target those in the Marcellus Shale development, who may have an interest in our area with Utica Shale. They'll continue to market the area along with 15 other counties in Columbus.

The Muskingum County Transportation Improvement District board is going to stay just the way it is.

Back in January the board considered ending the local TID group because there were no projects in the works yet the program still had annual expenses, plus the state funding structure had recently changed. So they used these two months to do research and come back with evidence of how the TID is positive for area projects.

The City of Zanesville and the Port Authority move closer to a deal to market two pieces of property.

More research is being done on a job ready site in the Eastpointe Industrial Park.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority received $6,000 from American Electric Power. The grant money supports economic development and in this case will be use to collect soil samples on a section of property at Eastpointe. It's important to get these samples because most of that area is former strip mine.

The Muskingum County Transportation Improvement District is fighting for its future.

The eastern part of our state is seeing an increase in oil and gas drilling as part of the Utica Shale Play.

Zanesville City Council passes amendments of 1999 and 2002 agreement with Mattingly foods.
