The Salvation Army of Zanesville got a generous donation Wednesday.

The check, presented by Jim McLaughlin, Director of the Zanesville Civic Chorus, was worth a little over $1,700. It will go toward funding the debt of the Salvation Army. We spoke to Office Manager Mindy McCloy who told us just how much the gift means.

It's that time of year again. The Salvation Army is beginning to pull out those familiar red kettles, and this year they need your help more than ever.

Because of over giving The Salvation Army is $162,000 in debt this year. While that number is astronomical, they've got a plan to get out of the red and back into the green.

The Salvation Army's Christmas applications are due this week.

Each year, people can apply for a little Christmas time assistance from the Salvation Army. Families with children 12 and younger can apply to receive a food basket and also a toy basket. If your family does not have young children, you can still apply to receive a food basket.

A twenty year tradition by two local organizations, to help keep kids warm during the winter months, is upon us again.

The Salvation Army and Olde Towne Cleaners are asking for jacket donations for their "Coats for Kids" annual program.

If you needed an excuse to eat something sweet we have the perfect reason.

Today is National Doughnut Day. The event was created by the Salvation Army in 1938 as a way to honor the women who served doughnuts and coffee to the soldiers during World War 1. Riesbeck's provides the Salvation Army with doughnuts and 10 percent of the proceeds goes back to the salvation army.

Hundreds of people are visiting the Salvation Army to do a little shopping...for free.

The Free School Clothing Giveaway started Thursday and will continue on Friday and the price is right for Muskingum, Noble, and Perry county residents.
