This year's Miracle on Main street is taking shape as a Storybook Christmas.

Over 50 businesses will be participating this year, and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce asked each one to pick their favorite Christmas story book and decorate with that theme in mind. It all is happening Wednesday night starting at 5 p.m.

Wednesday was the 20th annual Miracle on Main Street and the Muskingum County Courthouse was illuminated for the duration of the holiday season.

The lighting ceremony was at 6:30 this evening and featured Christmas music selections performed by the Zanesville High School Blue Knights, The Sweet Adelines and the Broadway Babies. Wednesday the doors will open to twinkling lights wrapped around Christmas trees.

The Festival of Trees auction will take place, Friday, but you can get a sneak peak Wednesday during the Miracle on Main event and Downtown Holiday tour. This year there are over two hundred holiday trees, wreaths and other holiday decorations up for auction.

Christmas is now just a few weeks away, and downtown Zanesville is preparing for its arrival...

The 17th annual Miracle on Main Street lighting ceremony and Holiday Tour will take place Wednesday, November 28th at the courthouse. The tour begins at 5 p.m., and the lighting ceremony kicks off a 6:30.

Downtown Zanesville was packed earlier Wednesday evening as the 18th annual Miracle on Main Street event was underway.

The snow and cold temperatures weren't enough to stop Zanesville residents from taking part in one holiday tradition.

Temperatures may be in the 60's, but it's feeling a lot more like Christmas at the Muskingum County Courthouse.

Crews started putting up lights Monday and say it will take them about two weeks before all 40,000 bulbs are ready for the upcoming holiday season.
